Autumn Favourites 2016

Hi friends, it’s been a while hasn’t it? You are probably wondering where I disappeared to over the past couple of weeks! A couple of weeks ago I was on a school camp where we had no access to Wi-Fi or a signal which was hard but a really nice break from the social world:) This week has been literally filled with exams and for that I apologise deeply! I will try my best to get back on track with my posts and I want to thank you all so much for your everlasting patience and constant support<3

As I haven’t done one of these in a while, I thought I would share some of the things I have been loving this season! Let me know your thoughts in the comments and I would love to hear what you all have been into! Here we go!

The last few months have been amazing when it comes to music with so many new albums coming out and so many people kicking off their tours! From Drake to Beyoncé to Calvin Harris, the hits have just kept on coming and sometimes, it’s just too much to handle! Besides all the awesome new music, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and Beyoncé have kicked off their world tours and I couldn’t be more excited! So without further ado, here’s the rundown…

  1. ‘One Dance’ by Drake, Wizkid and Kyla.

I honestly cannot get enough of this song… it’s just so catchy and makes you want to dance every time it plays!

  1. ‘Never Be Like You’ by Flume and Kai

This song is literally been stuck in my head for the past month and I can’t help it at all! It’s just so catchy and it’s nice to hear a song that has a deeper meaning than most that you hear on the radio today. Ahhh…just so good…

  1. ‘Hypnotic’ by Zella Day

Ok, I know this is a little bit of a throwback but I recently discovered this song from a friend and I’m kind of obsessed… The first time I had heard Zella Day was on the ‘Insurgent’ soundtrack but I didn’t really look into her music until now, and I’m so glad I did!

I’m kind of hating on myself for the lack of books I’ve read this season, but I’ve really had no time! So, instead of my seasonal favourites, here are the books that I hope to read in the near future:)

  1. ‘The Finisher’ by David Baldacci
  2. ‘Cat ‘o’ Nine Tales’ by Jeffrey Archer
  3. ‘Looking for Alaska’ by John Green
  4. ‘Damage Done’ by Amanda Panitch

Here are just some of the random things I’ve been loving this season:)

151397-L-LOAcoustic Guitar

Ok, my guitar has got to be the most exciting thing I purchased this season and I am absolutely in love with it! It’s a Monterey Acoustic, which is a very basic acoustic guitar that is perfect for beginners like myself!

Once Upon A Time

onceuponatime_season5_poster1Many of you may not know, but I absolutely love this show, which I was introduced to early last year! Season 5 wrapped up a couple weeks back and it was probably one of my favourite seasons yet! I absolutely can’t wait for the next season, which will premiere later this year:)

50136193-2-lowresNow that it is finally getting cooler again, I have  wasted no time in
lighting my favourite candles again! I absolutely adore candles and my room constantly smells of something  different everyday, which I absolutely love!

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Ok, I love Reese’s all year round but I have just been addicted to them over the past couple of 05980l36651months! They’re just the perfect mix of salty and sweet and the way they melt in your mouth is simply divine:)

There you have it! My Autumn Favourites for 2016:) Let me know what you have been loving this season and what you’re excited to try out!

I’ll be getting on top of my posts and I’ll see you all very soon<3

Step into my mind 30.04.16

Hi loves, Shreya here. I know it’s been a while and I’m so terribly sorry about being so inactive lately! It’s been partly because of school being stressful and partly because I had a major writers block, which usually doesn’t happen to me. I hope you are all well and excited for the weekend:) I haven’t done a ‘Step into my mind’ for a while so I thought I would rant on a bit today:) Please let me know if you enjoy these posts, I would appreciate it so much<3

Do you ever as yourself the question: Why am I here? As in, why am I on this amazing planet called the Earth and what is my purpose to live and breathe and go about my day to day activities? And no matter how much science tries to explain this, I still don’t understand WHY any living things are on the Earth…

Maybe I’m just crazy, and I admit that my thoughts my stray to the crazy side more than occasionally, but this question is always circling in my mind. Why can I think what I’m thinking? Why can I do what I want to do? Yes, I know. The nerves in my body send messages to my brain. Why do they do that?

Sometimes I feel like there is something bigger than the milky way, bigger than all the galaxies in space. Maybe the Sun isn’t as big as we say it is. Maybe the rest of the universe is so much bigger than what we have in perspective that we have no ways of finding out whats beyond our galaxy. The thought gives me chills down my spine and an urge to know what’s out there…

Hope that wasn’t too whacko for you guys…I can dig a little too deep sometimes and then get so lost in thought that I don’t know how to get myself safely back to reality.

Thank you all for always being so supportive of my blog and my thoughts…it means the world to me:) Happy Saturday!

Spotlight Movie Tag 🎬

Hello everybody, Shreya here! Hope you are all well and having a great week so far:) A couple of days ago I was nominated by the lovely Rosypop to do this tag, and because I love movies I simply couldn’t wait to do it! Please go check her out of you haven’t already…she’s such a fun blogger who always makes me smile:) So…let’s get straight into it!

The Rules:

  • Post this image into your post!
  • Tag whomever you want!
  • Have fun!!

Uh oh, not again! What’s a movie that you think is too predictable?

Ok, this was an extremely magical and fun movie but it was honestly a live action version of the original Cinderella movie from Disney! There was plot twist whatsoever which made it less captivating and very predictable.

I can’t believe I’m crying! What movie made you cry or lose it?

The Fault In Our Stars

I am going to have to agree with Rosypop on this one…I was completely drenched in tears when I walked out of the cinemas. It was so raw and pure yet such a damaged and problematic film.

Ah, the simplest things make me laugh! What’s a movie that even the smallest of comments in it make you crack up?

The Princess Diaries

Ahh, my childhood. I absolutely adore every single minute of this movie! I just can’t help but laugh at everything that any character says. Specifically Joseph:)

“It’s in between a waltz and a tango.”

“It’s a wango?”😂💃

I don’t care of this movie is animated…I still love it! What’s an animated movie you love?

The Lion King

I love every single Disney animated film from Up to Finding Nemo to The Little Mermaid! But, The Lion King definitely takes first place on this list!

I don’t care if this might not be possible in real life, I love this movie anyway! What’s a sci-fi movie that you love?

Harry Potter Series

Harry Potter is basically my favourite series of movies of all time! I still believe that there is a possibility of it being real…

Ugh, this movie is awful! What movie did you not like at all?

I honestly can’t think of one right now! There have definitely been a few though…

What’s a romantic comedy that you really like?

The Proposal

Style: "9142_LA_Disney_The_Proposal_Light_Test_01"

Oh my gosh this movie left me in tears…of laughter! I honestly haven’t come across another actress who is as hilariously gorgeous as Sandra Bullock:)

What’s a movie that was made from a book you really like?

A couple of years ago I had this crazy Divergent phase where I would read the books over and over again! When the movie came out, I was so excited!

Name a book that you wish they’d make into a movie.

The Selection

I absolutely loved this series…I would love for it to be made into a motion picture because of all the extravagant sets and costumes we would see.

What’s a great horror movie?

Never seen one! I saw the trailer for Annabelle and that was enough to scare me!

What’s a horror movie that you found more stupid than scary?

Refer to previous question!

Really, this is it? What movie were you highly disappointed with?

Inside Out

I was expecting this movie to amazing after it was nominated for multiple Academy Awards but it didn’t turn out to be as great as I thought it would.

So…here you go! I enjoyed doing this tag so much! It was  so nice to look back at my favourite movies and remember all my favourite moments:) Thank you again Rosypop for the nomination and I hope you enjoy reading this as much as enjoyed writing it!

I nominate:

Anyone who would like to do this tag, and anyone who loves movies:) Feel free to answer these questions or make up your own questions!

Happy Tuesday:)

Blueberry & Banana Bowls

Hi loves, happy Friday! How are you all? I know it has been so long since I’ve posted something and for this, I deeply apologise. School was crazy hectic the past month but now I finally have enough to do the things I love so much! (aka blogging) And for all the lovely people who have nominated me for tags/awards, they will be up very soon:)

So, for todays post I am sharing a recipe that I kinda just threw together…not literally. I was extremely bored and quite hungry so I just googled “recipes to try when bored”. Yes I know, sad life. After going through about a hundred recipes, I finally found one that I could substitute the ingredients for and make it my own! It is kind of my own twist on acai bowls because let’s be real – acai berries aren’t always available in your local supermarket or grocer. Hope you all love it and be sure to let me know if you try it out!

  • ¾ cup frozen blueberries
  • ¼ cup almond milk
  • 1 banana
  • Honey
  • Toppings of choice (I used walnuts but any other nut, shredded coconut or granola would taste great)

  1. Blend together the blueberries and almond milk in a food processor
  2. Peel and cut banana into round circles or ‘banana pennies’ as some people say!
  3. Scoop blueberry mixture into a bowl and arrange the banana on top
  4. Go crazy with toppings!
  5. Drizzle some honey on top.

That’s it! There is really nothing to it which is why I love it, I hope you all will too:) Thank you all for your endless support, it really means a lot<3

Happy Friday and stay sweet loves!

Step into my mind: 16.03.16

Hi everybody, Shreya here. I hope your week has been lovely so far:) I woke up to the most beautiful autumn weather and I thought…aren’t seasons just amazing? It has been so breezy and rainy the last couple of days which has made me extremely happy with it being my favourite kind of weather. I could see the heavy rain rattle on my window in a calming motion that just put me to complete ease. It’s days like this that spend writing all kinds of random things and just generally pausing and thinking about my life and the events that have occurred in the past couple of days, weeks or even months. I like to just take some time to think about my actions every once in a while and see how I’m doing educationally, emotionally and physically. I would love to know if any of you do the same, leave a comment!

So I was thinking about all the changes I’ve had in the past couple of months and I feel like there have been some ups and downs. I’ve become a lot more independent (I feel) and I’ve kind of taken my responsibilities a little more seriously than I had before. It’s not that I wasn’t organised or trustworthy before this but I had so many people like my mum and dad to do things for me. I’ve decided to kind of rely on them a little less:)

I’ve always thought about blogging since I was very little but I haven’t got around to it until the past few months which is extremely exciting…I’ve learnt so much from the whole blogging community and I’m so thankful for this experience. Although, even though I created a blog because I constantly have so much to say, it was also because I wanted to share my thoughts with people who won’t judge me for thinking them because well, they won’t personally know me. The more I thought about this, I got more and more worried about “What if someone I actually know finds out I have this blog? Will they make fun of me?”. I constantly felt worried that it won’t be as anonymous as it is anymore.

But then one day, I don’t know what happened but something inside me kind of clicked. I wasn’t worried about any of that anymore and couldn’t care less what people thought about me having a blog. It was a decision I made and I wouldn’t let anybody stop me from doing this. I feel like we lose sight of this a lot these days with media changing our views of the word ‘unique’. Sometimes I feel like the word ‘unique’ just means weird and different instead of something like ‘one of a kind’.

So don’t let people who’s opinions don’t matter help you make your decisions. Listen to your family and friends who care about you and support you through the decisions you make. Don’t listen to the people who judge you for being different because haters gonna hate! So just shake it off and carry on being fabulous! Don’t let the choices you make define you as a person. You should define yourself with the words you choose to define yourself with. Just remember to always be the best person you can be, for you and the ones you love.

I hope you don’t mind my little rant right there! It’s good to clear your head sometimes. Should I posts things like this more often? Let me know in the comments! Happy Wednesday…we are halfway to Saturday, what a great reason to celebrate:)

Thoughts and Musings in a Journal

Hello everybody! Today I really wanted to share a new product with you that I have really been loving! It is the “Q&A a day” kind of journal that I believe is an extremely valuable item that you should all check out! There are many different variations to the original Q&A book and the one I purchased was online from a stationary store. I just wanted to give you an example of the kind of questions it asks and share some of my answers! I will also have links to multiple Q&A books for you to check out.

Here are some of the questions and answers from my journal…

Q: The most recent text you received was…

A: Yaaaay! They finally noticed how good you are. Congratulations.

Q: Describe your day in three words…

A: Productive. Embarrassing. Invigorating.

Q: What is the perfect Friday night?

A: Family, friends, food, fun and films!

Q: What makes you happy?

A: Being around positive people who make you want to be the best person you can be, for them and for yourself…

Q: What is your guilty pleasure?

A: Warm brownies and good books in the winter, crawled under layers of blankets…

They are just some of the examples of questions in Q&A journals and as you can probably tell, I really enjoy answering them! They often “go” for 3-5 years where each question has multiple answer spaces so you can answer the same question on the same day of every year and compare your answers!

Here are some of the most popular Q&A Journals! (Just click on them!)

Q&A A Day-5 Year Journal

Thoughts & Reflections Journal (This is the one I have)

Q&A A Day For Me-A 3 Year Journal for Teens

Hope you guys enjoyed this little blog post and check out the links! Even though it’s March, it’s never too late to start one of these…you can just start your year on the date you purchase the diary and finish the cycle next year:)

Hope you all check this out! Happy Saturday:)
